We are looking for Full Time Medical Assistants for our Porterville location and private practice.

Job Title: Medical Assistant

Job Summary: We are in search of friendly and outgoing Medical Assistants to join our staff. Medical Assistants will report to the Department Leads and will be expected to carry out the essential job functions of a trained Medical Assistant.

Job Duties:

Essential Job Functions

• Verifying patient demographics
• Understanding patient identifier
• Proper documentation of Vital Signs
• Proper documentation of Chief Complaint
• Proper documentation of Chronic Medication List
• Annual Updates
• Adequately charge for services rendered
• Vaccine For Children (VFC) versus Private Vaccines and/or injections
• Understanding of CAIR and retrieving permission from parents and/or patients
• CLIA Waived Testing – Urinalysis, Pregnancy Test, Hemoglobin, Glucose testing, Hemoccult
• Procedure Set ups (at Providers Request) – including but not limited to how to complete lab requisitions
• Adequately documenting charges for services rendered
• Assisting provider with the “Consultation Request and Report Form” to help facilitate a referral.
• Adhering to Universal precautions
• Aware of assigned provider Patient Schedule
• Keep exam rooms well stocked and maintain cleanliness at all times
• Ensure cleaning of medical instruments and equipment while taking initiative to ensure they are done in a timely manner.
• Stock items by submitting weekly orders and following up if request has not been completed
• Work independently with direction from the Department Lead
• Be aware of working partner, assigned exam rooms and lunch coverage
• Other duties as assigned*

• Must be willing to work at any suite location and weekends if needed.
• Must obtain a Valid California Driver’s License at all times to allow for traveling.
• Commitment to the concepts of preventive health care program and team approach to health care delivery

• Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
• Must have High school diploma or equivalent and have successfully completed and graduated from a Medical Assistant Program.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is required.
• Must have a current (within 2 years) CPR Certificate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.25 - $18.00 per hour

• High school or equivalent (Required)
