Established pediatric practice looking to add an experienced team member to our medical assistant team! We are a pediatric practice in an established area of McKinney hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to start immediatly.

As a Medical Assistant you will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

Pay rate depends on skills and/or qualifications
Required Experience:
At least one year of experience working as a medical assistant in a back office position
At least one year of experience working in a pediatrics, family, or primary care practice/clinic
At least one year of experience medical assistant experience required
Must have a High School diploma or GED
Must have a working knowledge/experience of EMR/EHR
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office & Email solutions
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks
Demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with children
Ability to multi-task
Clinical Responsibilities:
Accompanying patients to exam/procedure room
Interview patients and document basic medical history
Checking vital signs
Charting up patient charts
Scanning and attaching documents to chart within EMR system
Performing screenings per provider guidelines
Performing rapid labs, immunizations and x-rays in office
Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
Preparation and completion of medical forms for physician
Referrals/authorization submissions for specialist appointments
Collecting specimens
Assist during medical examinations
Vaccine administration and other injections
Medication administration
Stocking samples/storage room
Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Skills:
Skill in performing medical assistance tasks appropriately
Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Social perceptiveness and service oriented
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and planning skills
Completing forms/requisitions as needed
Managing and updating charts to ensure information is complete
Obtaining lab/X-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.
License:
CMA (Preferred, but not required)
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) (Preferred, but not required)
Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) (Preferred, but not required)
