Job description

One to One Health is an innovative healthcare company that prides itself on delivering relationship-driven care. We were founded by a primary care physician whose passion is delivering the best healthcare outcomes with a focus on a patient experience that reduces barriers to care. One to One Health is excited to be growing its telehealth team, expanding from at-work employer clinics to better serve new clients and their employees. One to One’s telehealth product is called TextCare and leverages our onsite clinical and telehealth experience serving school systems, manufacturers, and large universities and extends our exceptional services to smaller companies – again with a focus on delivering exceptional care.

TextCare is centered around text messaging, using technology that allows patients to initiate care 24/7 with a simple text. The TextCare clinical team uses HIPAA-compliant software that augments the EMR to seamlessly communicate with patients via text, encrypted messaging, voice, and video calls, meeting patients in their preferred channel, so they can receive care or expert advice when they need it most.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Medical Assistant to join the rapidly growing TextCare team and to help solidify the text-centered patient experience as the preferred model. The TextCare team builds relationships with patients through responsive, clear, and effective communication. TextCare’s MAs are the foundational team members, responding to inbound requests for care with the human touches needed to assure patients they are reaching a real clinical team and not an automated service. TextCare’s MAs triage patients and coordinate care, dynamically responding, scheduling, charting, referring, setting tasks, and initiating follow-up – playing a critical role in maintaining patient relationships. The TextCare team communicates with and treats patients in a caring and compassionate manner through mixed communication methods, including text, phone, video, and email from our corporate location in Chattanooga, TN. The ideal MA is proficient with technology, focused on patient experience, and enjoys a dynamic collaborative environment – working closely with providers to deliver seamless care.

Job Duties:

  • Monitors Textcare messaging for incoming messages, and responds to those messages in an effort to meet the patients’ needs and/or facilitate coordination with clinicians to respond to patient messages.
  • Responsible for managing completed conversations in Textcare platform (software).
  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patients; recording medical history; confirming the purpose of the visit.
  • Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary interviews, identifying severity of inbound requests for acute care.
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.
  • Delivers overall support for Providers and TextCare operations.
  • Assists with scheduling of tests and treatments.
  • Arranges referrals to specialists and obtain pre-authorizations when directed by the Provider.
  • Counsels patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about treatments.
  • Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies, and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • As required, supports in-person events that may include Health Risk Assessments or flu shot events or general engagement to drive awareness of service with local clients. The following are responsibilities during these limited in-person events and are not central to the TextCare MA role:
  • Give injections, administer prescribed medications as directed by the provider and in accordance with nursing standards
  • Observe patients, chart and report changes in patients' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and take any necessary action
  • Ensure that patient chart entries are made accurately and in a timely matter and forward charts as appropriate.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in basic technology (computers, Microsoft software, etc)
  • Professional communication skills (written and spoken while interacting with patients via text, phone, video, and email)
  • Experience with EMR systems (Azalea currently used)
  • Dynamic and willing to take on a range of responsibilities.
  • Able to multi-task and work independently in support of a close-knit team.
  • Professionalism, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • BLS Certified
