Ascent Urgent Care is seeking a Full/Part Time Medical Assistant to work at in our Saline, MI location. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be a team player and a reliable staff member. We are looking for someone who is seeking a long-term employment opportunity.

Job Description:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting throughout health services to aid patient care and business operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

• Welcome patients and visitors into our urgent care center with compassion and provide exceptional customer service.

• Prepares patients for examination by provider by obtaining medical history and intake of vital signs.

• Prepares exam rooms, including maintenance, sterilization of equipment, and stocking of supplies.

• Assists provider with medical procedures, such as wound dressing, suture removal, injections, UA dips, EKG, and other applicable office procedure depending on specialty.

• Instructs patients on necessary paperwork and procedures. Plans, organizes and supports the care of patients, families and visitors in outpatient setting.

• Administration of medications and appliances within scope of practice and as ordered by the treating provider.

• Maintain proper inventory levels of all medical supplies and track inventory for pharmaceuticals in the center.

• Document patient care in EMR (DocuTAP) including correspondence and required reports, maintains logs and records as assigned.

• Collects and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Assesses and properly handles lab results.

• Responsible for patient call backs; scheduling physician referrals; specialist’s referrals and pharmacy issues; and patient’s education.

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

• May be required to pre-register patients, photocopy information, scan/file information, and answer the telephone, take messages, and directs calls.
• Assist with COVID clinics and swabbing patients for testing as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
