Job description
A. Demonstrates commitment, caring and accountability for the care of the clinic patients and family members, always striving to meet the customer service standards.
B. Participates in the team delivery of age specific, multicultural care of the patients.
C. Initiates appropriate comfort and safety measures according to the needs of all assigned patients.
D. As a team member, adheres to clinic and nursing policies and procedures when providing direct patient care.
E. Reports pertinent patient observations and reactions to the Clinical Lead/Program Manager in a timely manner.
F. Meets the general performance standards of the position including safety and infection control, fire and disaster preparedness.
G. Identifies and reports unsafe practices or situations. Complies with established safety practices. Complies with Hand Hygiene and Isolation practices.

J. Uses proper body mechanics.
K. Assists as needed with delivering of wound care protocols.
L. Maintains spreadsheets in order to track statistical data relative to patient appointments and marketing information.
M. Assists Program Manager in summarizing and/or auditing wound center charges for each business day, week, month and in-month-end reports and invoices as required.
N. Types and files patient records, patient charges and correspondence as needed.
O. Demonstrate basic understanding of third party payor system including Medicare, Medi-cal, commercial, PPO and HMO systems and assists with financial counseling of patients.
P. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with local hospital departments, staff, patients and other outside contacts.
Q. Maintains accurate patient registration records, verifying insurance prior to initial appointment.
R. Collaborates with clinical staff to maintain system of medical records, including patient privacy, confidentiality and informed consent.
S. Assists in preparing and maintaining medical records for each clinical day, obtaining inpatient/or other diagnostic records as needed.
T. Schedules patients appropriately into system, developed in collaboration with clinical staff.
U. Prioritize clerical functions for smooth operations with good interpersonal and phone communication.
V. Demonstrates courtesy in all interpersonal interactions and follows proper channels of communication in handling and/or referring issues and problems to appropriate staff members.
W. Demonstrates accuracy in typing, filing.
X. Distributes mail, correspondence, packages, etc. appropriately.
Y. Assists center staff in projects and marketing functions, including maintaining tracking system for all patient and professional inquires.
Z. Attends all mandatory in-services and other professional education opportunities to enhance skills as appropriate.
ZA. Hyperbaric Chamber back up coverage.
ZB. HBOT Technical Safety Officer back up as needed.
ZC. Manage the billing as well as billing reconciliation. ZD. Surgery scheduling with the providers.
ZE. Supports Director as required.
ZF. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge:
A. High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
B. Ability to interact in a professional manner.
C. Current BLS certification.
D. Completion of a Medical Assistant course.
E. Minimum one (1) year experience in a nursing/medical setting preferred.
F. HBOT Technical Safety Officer Certificate preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.76 - $23.80 per hour
