Do you enjoy working with the elderly? Mount Angel Towers' Assisted Living is looking for Med Techs/Caregivers to join our experienced and dedicated team. We are looking for someone to work 12 shifts (3 days on, 4 days off). Med Techs are responsible for medications, treatments and resident care duties as assigned by the Administrator or Nurse.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to and convey facility’s philosophy of maintaining elements of self-care and encouraging independence.
- Fill out incident reports for resident and/or personnel when an incident occurs on shift.
- Take and record vital signs as ordered by supervisor.
- Administer medication and treatments as assigned within the scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential medical and care records.
- Maintain organized and well stocked medication carts.
- Monitor self-medication program when ordered by physician or nurse.
- Maintain confidentiality of residents.
- Communicate accurately with doctors, families, residents, or other appropriate parties, concerning any/all residents’ needs.
- Frequently lift weights of less than or equal to 20 lbs., occasionally lift greater than or equal to 50 lbs.
- Has knowledge of infection control, i.e. adequate hand washing.
- Be a team player and conduct all other duties assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Ability to pass Oregon Division of Human Services Criminal Background Check and pre-employment drug test.
- Ability to become First-Aid certified and pass all State Mandated pre-service training.
- Age 18 years or older.
- Able to handle complaints graciously.
- Remain calm and professional during emergencies.
- Ability to work with public, visitors, coworkers and residents in a tactful manner.
- Dependable.
- Able to follow directions and complete tasks.
- Must have patience, be cheerful, and remain enthusiastic.
- Frequent lifting requirement of less than or equal to 20 lbs., occasional lifting requirement of greater than or equal to 50 lbs.
