Primary Objective: The Materials Manager will oversee the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements.

Key Job Duties:

  • Supervise, develop, and coach Materials team members.
  • Maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements.
  • Establish procedures to ensure accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures are followed in connection with all Materials department functions.
  • Develop procedures for identification and disposition of inactive inventory.
  • Responsible for continuous exploration of materials, suppliers, and processes to improve quality, reliability, price, continuity, and delivery.
  • Maintain relationships and facilitate negotiations with key suppliers.
  • Develop and report Materials related metrics and KPI’s.
  • Interface with Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams in planning and execution of customer orders.
  • Participate in company continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with ERP systems (Epicor and/or NetSuite platforms a plus).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • APICS and ISM certifications a plus.
