Start rate may be higher if you have continuous manufacturing experience.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.

• Regular and punctual attendance is required.
• Flexible to work in any area of the operation.
• Willing and able to work any shift.
• Must be able to comprehend English and follow direction from JTEKT team leader(s), supervisor(s) and/or manager(s).
• Must perform all instructions as listed in the Job Element.
• Follow standard work as described in the Job Element for each operation and produce quality parts.
• Must produce standard quantities upon completion of training.
• Inspect all safety equipment prior to production start-up (E-Stops, safety light, PPE).
• Observe machine operation to detect workplace defects or machine malfunction.
• Measure workplace dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Perform minor preventative machine maintenance such as oiling machines and dies and do all necessary cleaning on equipment and work area.
• Follow the non-conforming material procedure when it is found and notify the team leader.
• Project a positive outlook in conversation and conduct.
• Able to work in a fast paced team environment without direct supervision.
• Able to achieve forklift and tugger certification and drive proficiently, as determined is needed by our business demands.
• May perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Work 8 or 10 hour shift and overtime is required, as needed. Overtime maybe required with short notice.
• Excellent fine motor skills; finger, hand, and wrist dexterity
• Ability to walk approximately 6-7 miles over an 8-10 hour day
• Ability to stand for duration of shift; perform repetitive motions while walking or standing
• Ability to twist, press, turn, assemble, and handle components and/or assembled parts 600 - 750 times per shift
• Ability to pinch, reach, grasp, bend, lift, stretch, push, pull, and squat
• Ability to visually inspect parts and machines and read instructions, labels
• Ability to regularly lift 10 to 40 pounds

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.63 - $19.85 per hour
