SUMMARY
Responsible for moving materials, parts and modules between different areas within the plant and warehouse. Also will load and unload trucks from suppliers / customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Transport appropriate quantities of material from warehouse building to staging area of production.
  • May assist with unloading of incoming shipments and loading of outgoing shipments to suppliers / customers.
  • Miscellaneous movement of material, dunnage, equipment, etc.
  • Assist Receiving/Warehouse personnel to prevent "out of stock" situations (ie: making sure they are aware of the "last box" taken out).
  • May assist in the proper storage of material into warehouse
  • Ensure safety precautions are adhered to for the warehouse/crib area.
  • May be required to conduct cycle counts as necessary.
  • Will be required to learn bar-coding, scanning procedure, and inventory system.
  • Transport trash containers to the dumpster.

Adhere to all QS9000 procedures as related to the Materials department function.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent; or 2 to 5 years of automotive experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to successfully complete hilo examination and training requirements for MIOSHA certification.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

This employee regularly works in the manufacturing area around moving mechanical equipment and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. Occasionally the employee works in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
