Job Title: MASSAGE THERAPIST
Department: 60 – SPA & FITNESS
Reports To: SPA COORDINATOR
FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPT

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To administer body treatments in accordance with Club standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide body treatments in and according to training manual and Club standards, including Swedish massage, body wraps, exfoliating treatments, aromatherapy and reflexology.

2. Provide information to guests and members about treatments and services and provide demonstrations as needed.

3. Follow procedures and guidelines in administration of treatments.
4. Perform draping policy.
5. Refer medical problems to physicians.
6. Prepare and maintain treatment facilities, including removing soiled linens, etc.
7. Assist with promotion of treatments and services.
8. Cover Reception Desk and assists spas attendants as needed.
9. Sell body treatment products and supplies to membership.
10. Comply with all Spa and Salon policies and standards.
11. Comply with federal, state and local laws.
12. All other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

National certification through National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and
Body Work
Florida state license

Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
