Snelling is recruiting for an experienced Manual Machinist for the Alabaster, AL area! Will perform the following tasks: Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, materials, specifications, and machining parameters. Interprets geometric dimensions and holds tolerances for parts such as spacers, pins, axles, and gears. Paint and apply finishing coats to in accordance to blueprints and/or customer specifications.JOB DUTIES FOR MANUAL MACHINIST:
- Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, materials, specifications, and machining parameters.
- Interprets geometric dimensions and tolerances.
- Operates overhead cranes/crane hoists to move materials.
- Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications, using square, mic, and measuring equipment.
- Sets up and operate machines for cutting gears.
- Takes pride in work produced and exhibits a professional attitude.
- Performs additional duties as required.
- Must have at least 3- 5 years of experience as a Manual Machinist.
- One year of blueprint reading required.
- Demonstrated ability to modify material by drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing and threading material into parts and holding tolerances to specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to perform simple computer operations, such as clocking in or out of work.
- Must pass a micrometer and math test (basic math, geometry, and trigonometry).
Starting Pay: $22.00-23.00/hr with increases and great benefits to come!!
