Manager of Workforce Planning
The Manager of Workforce Planning creates, implements and maintains hospital labor budgets, labor recaps and staffing plans to support forecasted volume and staffing level targets. This person will also conduct routine analyses to assess forecast & staffing accuracy, scheduling gaps and staff utilization and provide recommendations to field team on forecast variances, staffing gaps, etc. To successfully meet these requirements the person in this role must be comfortable with Workforce Management Systems (Time & Attendance, Labor Scheduling and Analytics) as well as having the ability to assimilate data from a variety of sources to prepare & present results & recommendations to the Operations team.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Communicate, monitor and report hospital payroll usage and productivity via weekly payroll recaps
- Analyze the scheduled versus actual labor used across the business to identify trends in business activities
- Identify and analyze information affecting average hourly rate (i.e. minimum wage changes, management census, etc.)
- Provides daily debrief via Analytics dashboard on prior days results to include analysis on drivers of variances to plan, actions taken to mitigate risk and recommended future action if needed
- Develop and prepare weekly revenue and labor forecasts in conjunction with monthly business estimates
- Effectively communicate with various departments including Finance, HR, VEG Field Management, IT, and Information Security
- Responsible for managing WFM and connected systems to ensure accurate data flows to and from the WFM application.
- System upgrade/testing- scheduling or forecasting strategies
- Proactively analyzes and oversees implementation of continuously improved forecasts and plans; measures performance, identifies opportunities and provides recommendations on how to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPI) metrics
- Partner with the Training team to continue to document and develop resources for new WFM functionality and opportunities to help hospitals become confident in their use of the WFM Suite.
- Develop efficient processes for workforce-related tasks, documenting current processes and procedures, as well as identifying gaps and opportunities for continuous process improvement
- Analyze data and scrutinize exceptions to identify trends and deliver actionable reporting on key workforce data metrics for leadership review and guided decision-making/actions using Analytics
- Ensure scheduling practice is in line with local law protecting the company and employee interest
- Perform all other job related duties as requested
Basic Qualifications
- 3 or more years of progressively responsible WFM Planning and Strategy role
- Demonstrated ability to respond accurately and confidently when presented with ad hoc inquiries about current state of operation
- Ability to develop and maintain business relationships with internal business partners, employees at all levels of management
- Ability to organize, analyze and interpret significant data in a structured manner to make sound business recommendations and/or decisions; attention to detail and problem solving abilities
- Strong mathematical aptitude with an emphasis on statistical analysis.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to manage complex documents and summarize raw data
- Proven organizational skills with the analytical ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and prioritize effectively
- Advanced knowledge of data analysis and manipulation tools - Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
- Aptitude to positively influence colleagues, peers, and cross-functional teams with diverse goals and responsibilities.
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations, meet tight deadlines and demonstrate a high level of flexibility in a rapidly changing and diverse environment

- Pay Range: $90,000 - $125,000 salary per year
