Position Overview

The Manager of Cyber Security will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a strategic, comprehensive enterprise-wide cybersecurity and IT risk management program. The Manager of Cyber Security will provide the vision and leadership necessary to manage the risk to the organization and will ensure business alignment, effective governance, system and product availability, integrity and confidentiality.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead a team of Cyber Security professionals to ensure development of secure Cyber solution stacks that complies with regulatory requirements, including development of guidelines, requirements, processes and product development framework that covers product security activities and artifacts.
  • Advise the leadership team and Board of Directors on information security risk and own proactive mitigation plans.
  • Oversee all infrastructure and information security processes.
  • Provide project management and leadership to staff and external resources in support of established goals and objectives, improved efficiencies, and problem resolution.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry and regulatory trends and developments for the enterprise technology.
  • Define and report on information security metrics.
  • Evaluate new cybersecurity threats and IT trends and develop effective security controls.
  • Oversee development of security awareness programs.
  • Support the initiatives of the information security program and coordinates with the various lines of business as needed.
  • Champion best practices in security event / incident detection and response
  • Perform security event investigations, following forensic guidelines to preserve evidence for potential legal action.
  • Monitor and respond to alerts from key security technologies and other internal sources.
  • Support information security projects, such as new technology implementations and enhancements to existing tools.
  • Facilitate the information security training and awareness programs.
  • Research emerging threats, evaluating likelihood of occurrence, and controls to mitigate them.
  • Identify vulnerabilities within the environment with oversight of associated remediation activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with degree preferred in Computer Science or Information Technology systems security or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years within the last seven (7) years of experience in the field related to the title of the position.
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) (certification preferred) with respect to security administration and information technology governance in a multiplatform environment.
  • Experience in establishing cybersecurity and risk metrics for reporting.
  • Strong Emotional Intelligence with demonstrated sustained leadership in a large organization involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated management skills, e.g., policy development and implementation, personnel administration, staff training and development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse people; effective oral and written communication skills.
