Manager, Labor Administration and Training
Job description
The Manager, Labor Administration and Training is responsible for leading the Distribution Services organization through strategic planning and development as well as the operational and administrative processes that contribute to the organization's labor administration and training needs. Key to this position is the leadership responsibility to apply analytics and relationship skills to forecast labor needs for the Distribution Services organization. This leader partners with the executive team to ensure the compliance, learning and development and labor processes meet the organization's needs with a focus on organizational improvement, cast development, innovation, and efficiency. The leader will partner closely with key business partners including Facility Operation Services (FOS) Training and Labor, Workforce Management, Organizational Management, Union, Casting, and other operational areas to leverage best practices and ensure business alignment and effectiveness.
This position will report to the Director-Distribution Services.
Responsibilities/You Will:
- Exercise long-term planning, including initiatives geared toward operational excellence
- Provide labor analytics, metrics, forecasting, and tracking to support business growth and effectiveness.
- Evaluate and recommend optimal scheduling and sizing of full-time/part-time labor mix to volume demand
- Process, track, reconcile and report all labor requirements to ensure compliance with organizational policy, union guidelines, and other associated laws.
- Provide leadership for the team responsible for leave administration, FMLA documentation, record card documentation, job postings, research for complex labor-related issues, audit opportunities as well as other labor and administrative projects, as needed.
- Develop policies, procedures, and communication to ensure all levels of Cast within the organization comply.
Basic Qualifications:
- Proven knowledge of labor systems and processes
- Advanced skills and knowledge in Microsoft Office including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong technical and analytical aptitude
- Strong partnering and collaboration skills
- Project management skills from design through sustainment
- Change management and organizational improvement skills
- Training design skills
- Demonstrated process improvement skills
- Proven verbal, written, and facilitation skills
Preferred Qualification:
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and be a change agent
- Management experience with proven ability to lead teams
- Build and present on dashboards related to labor utilization
- Experience with Workday
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
