Responsible for leading, coaching and inspiring a team of content strategists and copywriters tasked with bringing our brand’s voice to life through social, advertising, digital, direct marketing, and integrated campaign assets. Manage creating and reviewing all content strategy deliverables, including content approach documents, copywriting, editing, proofreading, content audits and brand voice guideline updates and implementation.About Marketing & Communications at Blue Cross NC

As Manager, Copywriting and Content Strategy you will be charged with leading and coaching a team of copywriters and content strategists elevating the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC brand and communicating its mission, vision, and values to the communities we serve. This role will take a practical and visionary approach to leadership; you will work with your team and business units across the enterprise. You will analyze and effectively use research to write insight driven copy. We are seeking a seasoned copywriter and content strategist with a solid background in healthcare and/or another highly regulated, customer-focused industry.

What You’ll Do
Manage and inspire a team of copywriters and content strategists.
Manage team responsible for concepts and writing content for external-facing integrated marketing and advertising campaigns as well as internal-facing employer brand campaigns.
Provides editorial content and strategic recommendations for projects while ensuring consistency with content standards and best practices.
Ensures proactive content governance and maintenance processes, to ensure consistency, timeliness, accuracy and relevance. Functions as an avid editor of all BCBSNC Web content.
Serve as a “systems integrator” for effective content strategies by actively engaging marketing, corporate communications, business owners and subject matter experts.
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
8+ years of experience in related field.
In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in related field.
Nice to Have
Prior work with advertising agencies and/or in-house agencies, presentation of campaigns
Background in journalism with a focus on storytelling
Email and social media content marketing expertise, preferred
Knowledge of health insurance
Experience collaborating with art directors and designers to write and direct concepts across all disciplines
