GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Manager of Consumer Lending Operations is Responsible for leading, coordinating, and improving all facets of operational activities within the Consumer Lending division including leading lending initiatives, loan processing, and loan funding functions. This leader will develop process efficiency maps and seek opportunities improve turn time and reduce errors. The manager will train, coach, and lead a high performing team focused on ensuring a high level of quality service to members and internal stakeholders, as well as, maintain accuracy and timelines in all loan transactions. This individual will partner with key stakeholders in Lending, Consumer Banking, Operations, Technology and MSC to seek opportunities to improve operational efficiencies, the member experience, reduce manual efforts and leverage automation. This role is responsible for maintaining compliance with credit union’s lending policies and all applicable laws and regulations, as well as compliance with investor guidelines, federal regulations, state statutes and internal policies.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Finance, Operations, Project Management or related field or experience.
  • Five (5) years of financial institution experience
    • To include three (3) years management or supervisory experience

Minimum Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • Knowledge of lending products, policies, and procedures, underwriting requirements, conventional and governmental loan requirements, operations, and compliance regulations.
  • Understanding of real estate appraisals, title reports, and real estate transactions.
  • Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
  • High attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
  • Ability to organize multiple responsibilities and tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Strong in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access), LOS/banking systems particularly relating to servicing, processing, or closing
  • Ability to influence and gain alignment
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Project management skills and the ability to lead key initiatives

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:

The job requires the employee to sit a majority of the time. Infrequent lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must comply with all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act and SAFE Act. The employee must be able to work in Tucson, AZ, work a minimum five-day workweek (40 hours) with availability for nights and/or weekends as required.


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES & TASKS:

  • Manages staff and the day-to-day operations of consumer loan processing and funding execution while maintaining quality
  • Perform critical assessment of all processes and challenge the status quo by seeking new opportunities to improve operational efficiencies, reduce error, leverage automation, and ensure optimal performance
  • Develop best in class operational standards for productivity and error reduction
  • Create dashboard reporting of loan product fundings, turn-times, and processor productivity
  • Establish and communicate long term operational vision and goals aimed at delivering an exceptional member experience and alignment with organizational objectives
  • Serves as the point person for Consumer Lending projects and initiatives
  • Gathers and documents requirements for Consumer Lending related projects.
  • Complete process journey maps to identify opportunities for automation to alleviate non-value add work and improvements to internal/external user experiences
  • Routinely review all policies and procedures for accuracy, applicable updates, and revisions, as well as develop new policies and procedures when necessary
  • Collaborate with training department to develop materials related to consumer lending processes
  • Create a team dynamic that focuses on continuous improvement, attention to detail, quality output, cross-functional collaboration, and member experience
  • Engage in the implementation of consumer lending projects, initiatives, and third-party partner onboardings
  • Provide routine updates to key stakeholders on performance, operational initiatives, changes to policies/procedures, etc.
  • Effectively collaborate with Consumer Banking, MSC, and Lending to ensure alignment with policy and process changes
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary range is $71,805.29 - $94,244.45. Job Grade 14, exempt. Final salary is dependent on a candidate’s experience and qualifications.
