We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Associate to be responsible for performing skilled repairs at all agency programs residences, and offices. This positions will be based out of New Haven Connecticut although will travel daily to agencies locations throughout Connecticut.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Accepts daily work orders and completes them, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor
• Completes property assessments to spot potential safety concerns and maintenance needs
• Utilizes company vehicle to travel to agency sites as required
• Instructs Program Managers on proper home maintenance techniques
• Treats all individuals supported by the agency with respect and dignity

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide repair work- including, painting, carpentry, plumbing, flooring, and light electrical
• Completes improvement projects
• Purchase maintenance supplies, and track expenses
• Snow plowing and shoveling
• Provide moving assistance as, needed
• Ensure a safe work environment
• Is on-call to address repair emergencies

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Requires general knowledge in most trades
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• 18 years or older
• Clean driving record
