Hanover Company is looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for Hanover Alewife, a luxury mid-rise apartment community in Cambridge, MA. The six-story development consists of 213 units with top-of-the-market finishes and is walking distance to MBTA's Red Line Alewife station, as well as several resident destinations such as Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Entertainment Cinemas, and Starbucks.
Must have 3 to 5 years’ experience on a Class A, new construction property, with expertise in plumbing, electrical, carpentry and grounds maintenance. HVAC Certification is required.
The objective of the Maintenance Supervisor is to perform quality maintenance in a timely manner, perform periodic and purposeful preventative maintenance programs, satisfy all reasonable maintenance requests and train the maintenance staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ordering and stock maintenance supplies.
- Inform Property Manager of any and all maintenance problems on property.
- Process bids for property repairs and property improvements.
- Execute the preventative maintenance plan.
- Maintain all property amenities.
- Substitute for all maintenance personnel when necessary (i.e., Housekeeper, Painter, Porter).
- Be available to be on call weekends for emergencies.
- Have adequate knowledge of the buildings, grounds, and pools.
- Follow all safety programs implemented by Hanover and according to policy.
- Walk the property and report any liability problems immediately.
- Perform any and all duties called upon by supervisors to ensure that property operates in an efficient and economic manner.
- Represent property and Hanover professionally through dress and behavior.
- Keep records of all maintenance requests and repairs made.
- Maintain all appropriate maintenance logs required by Hanover.
- Maintain an expertise in all phases of plumbing, general carpentry, electrical maintenance, pool equipment, HVAC, and appliance repairs.
- Own your own tools.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Lifting belt required.
