DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking full-time distribution center Sorter Operator to join our team at our East Point DC! Sorter Operator Duties:
This Sorter Operator position is on 2nd shift (Monday- Thursday 4:30pm-3:00am) and with some additional pre-scheduled shifts required as business need dictates.
Sorter Operators at the DICK’S Sporting Goods Distribution Center are responsible for achieving company objectives by overseeing specific operations within the Smithton Distribution Center.

Essential functions of this position include:
Ensure proper carton flow over sorter and conveyors
Communicate to operations department any carton spec discrepancies.
Ensure proper flow off of divert lanes to accommodate proper divert status.
Communicate to technicians any equipment discrepancies.
Ensure maximum sorter efficiencies
Complete proper related documentation
Qualifications
Success Profile:
Understand and manipulate sorter operating systems, i.e. stats and wizard.
Ability to lift 50 Lbs.
Ability to manually remove and input cartons to conveyors in awkward areas.
Ability to work at heights greater than 10 feet.
Must be willing to be trained and properly use aerial lift equipment such as JLG single man, Skyjack, scissor lift, Genie articulation boom lift.
Must be willing to be trained to operate Crown lift equipment.
Must be willing to assist maintenance technicians during a scheduled/emergency repair of conveyor system.
Work as a Material Handler as needed.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull and lift cartons/bins weighing approximately 10-50 pounds repetitively.
Basic reading comprehension and numerical reasoning skills.
Manual dexterity.
Performs all aspects of the material handling manually and through the use of powered equipment with the Distribution Center. Must pass equipment operator’s testing, according to position and department requirements. Some job functions are performed in the standing position. Must be available to work the assigned hours at the work site at the times identified.
