Summary:

Provide direct leadership to the maintenance department, supervising, scheduling, and coordinating the activities of the maintenance department, building and maintenance projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervising maintenance department activities, maintaining work department area, communicating with management requiring the equipment needs and scheduling maintenance, carrying out needed safety and training programs, complete performance appraisals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides direct leadership to one of the maintenance department divisions;
• Completes performance appraisals, in conjunction with human resource department personnel, of all maintenance department personnel
• Coordinates building and equipment maintenance projects;
• Communicates with management and supervisory personnel regarding facility and equipment needs, scheduled maintenance projects and relative budgetary matters;
• Maintains a preventative maintenance program, implementing improvements to said program as necessary

• Demonstrates basic characteristics and skills required to lead department personnel;
• Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists;
• Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form;
• Analyzes a problem and identifies the root cause;
• Demonstrates interest and desire to broaden personal skill level to the degree necessary to provide professional expertise in all matters relating to machine and/or facilities maintenance;
• Reads and interprets prints and schematics;

Education and/or Experience:

• Relative postsecondary degree and/or experience, preferred.
