Description: The University of Mount Union seeks qualified applicants for the Maintenance Staff – General Trades position.

Under the direction of the Physical Plant Director, or other appropriate staff, the Maintenance & General Trades technician provides day-to-day general repair and preventative maintenance services on university equipment. Move furniture and perform setups for campus events. Perform routine work assignment in all areas of the Maintenance Department in their mission to provide a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained facility.

Responsibilities

• Complete basic work orders as assigned
• Perform preventative maintenance to building equipment
• Setup/teardown tables and chairs for campus events
• Setup/teardown audio equipment for campus events
• Move and perform minor repairs to campus furniture
• Make large package delivers throughout campus
• Promotes safe work environment.
• Maintain a neat and clean work area including an assigned University vehicle. Responsible for the upkeep of all assigned tools and equipment.

Qualifications

Previous experience working in a general maintenance background helpful. A positive work attitude and a willingness to work together as a team are essential. Good verbal and written communication skills required. Must be available to work any shift, if needed. Must be able to perform physical work, including lifting and maneuvering at least 80 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations, and be able to work from at least an eight-foot ladder. A valid Ohio Driver’s License is required to operate University vehicles.

Shift Schedule: This position will work an day shift (exact times to be determined).

This position is required to complete assigned University compliance training as communicated by the University.
