The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who requires little direction. They will have complex problem solving skills and ability to take ownership of tasks and projects. The Maintenance and Safety Specialist shall have a minimum of a high school diploma; knowledge of facilities management and be capable of completing common maintenance tasks typical of an office environment; possess and be able to use his/her own and/or Pathway tools on the job. The Maintenance and Safety Specialist shall have a valid driver's license and must be able to be insured under agency policy, with a dependable vehicle, capable of transporting tools and office equipment, which is safely maintained to any six of our Pathway office locations. Possess basic computer skills. This person must meet the background screening as defined in OAC code 5101:2-5-09. This person must demonstrate sensitivity and consideration for the cultural differences among the children and families served by Pathway. The Maintenance and Safety Specialist is responsible for the overall, safe operation of all Pathway owned/non-owned properties and all Pathway owned vehicles.Completes all maintenance requests submitted by staff to the Maintenance and Safety Specialist, while maintaining an electronic or written Maintenance Log of all work done.
They are expected to perform minor repairs and improvements which may include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc. on properties owned by Pathway. Seasonal or preventative maintenance for any owned/non-owned locations as directed and contact with service providers.
Complete and submit a monthly Safety Inspections of all Pathway Service locations in compliance with COA and Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services requirements. Actively ensures that Pathway facilities are free of hazardous conditions. Additionally, the employee will maintain all maintenance and safety supplies, including first aid, to agreed inventory levels. Should it be necessary they will be responsible for major improvements/projects including but not limited to: making recommendations, determines cost estimates, oversees purchase of supplies, and maintains involvement by supervising, assisting and/or personally completing project.
Other expectations for this position include: assisting in development and maintenance of facility disaster recovery planning in consultation with QA and Compliance Director, coordinating facilities issues and repairs if a third party is needed. Overseeing our JBLC facility which includes, but is not limited to: being point person for facilities, responsibility for ensuring the safety and general upkeep of the facility, and acting point person for the alarm. Lastly, performing other duties as assigned by the Quality and Compliance Director.
