Overview
This role is responsible for offline programing using Master Cam software and/or Pro-E and programming daily operation of the Horizontal and Vertical machines. Work closely with the electrical mechanical assembly team to ensure that all parts are correct and cut to company standards. Produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; manual mills, Bridgeport, grinders and other various machines supporting quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Rework parts that do not meet the fit, form, or function criteria of the design. Work on the shop floor as needed with electrical and mechanical assembly, installation, and support of automation systems. Operate in a team environment to help meet or exceed customer expectations.

- Requirements for this job include the ability to program, read blue prints, and do setup work.
- Programming, setup, and operation of conventional, special purpose, and horizontal and vertical machines.
- Create and modify programs with company software and document all programs.
- Read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Decide various machining operations required to manufacture the finished job.
- Add fixture design, build, program, and prove out 1st piece run on any given machine.
- Decide the sequence in which the machine operations have to be carried out and the amount of material to be removed in each step of the sequence will have to calculate the time required to manufacture the finished job.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and grinders.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintains continuity among the engineering team by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Electrical and mechanical assembly, installation, and support of automation systems.
- Assemble and wire automation control panels
- Interact with engineering staff both verbally and in written form
- Assist engineering staff with I/O checks, trouble shoot and repair problems found during testing
- Align and fit mechanical and electromechanical assemblies using hand and power tools
- Participate in project reviews to help ensure projects are completed on time and budget consistent with customer's expectations

Required Knowledge and Abilities:
- Three or more years related experience and training (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Demonstrated ability to read drawings and read and understand engineering blue prints.
- Knowledge of speeds and feeds for machining all types of metals.
- Able to use micrometers, electronic gauges, calipers, and similar tools.
- Solid math skills ability to read and convert metric and English units.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work well as a team member and manage and build relationships across departments.
- Detail oriented, able to problem solve with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
