Machine Shop Support in Mechanical area executes machining and/or assembly operations. The Co-Op role is an Individual Contributor who performs multiple assignments in support of machining, mechanical assembly, repair, refurbishment of equipment, components or tooling systems under the mentoring of experienced shop personnel.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Comprehend fundamentals of equipment, machines and testing in support of the manufacture or inspection of parts.
- Enter data in our SAP ERP system, maintain logs and complete datasheets.
- Ability to read schematics and drawings.
- Understanding key attributes - verifying attributes with measuring instruments and test equipment.
- Analyze specifications
- Determine methods of verification and understanding tolerances
- Knowledge of material properties, machining technique, soldering, welding and mathematics.
- Arrange, store, and parts and equipment maintaining accurate location and count records in SAP, Microsoft Excel, or other systems.
- Interface with internal customers on a daily basis.
- Monitor supply inventory and order or coordinate orders with Shipping department for components, raw material and packaging material
- Assist Warehouse and Shipping/Receiving personnel as needed.
Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50lbs or more.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and multitasking skills.
