Machine Operator 1 (1st or 3rd Shift)

Overview:

This is an entry level operator position responsible for operating front end equipment: Screw Presses,
Basket Press, Hot Breaks, Destoners, Decanters, and Mills. This position is also responsible for the cleanliness of the general area and any other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Operate various pieces of equipment, including but not limited to Screw Presses, Basket Press,

Hot Breaks, Decanters, and Mills per the written standard operating procedures.

• Perform routine checks to ensure the highest quality product.
• Cross-training in other various support or backup roles.
• Assist sanitation with CIP’s (clean in place) along with general area cleaning.
• Follow all plant GMP’s along with Food Safety regulations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.

Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a production environment preferred.
• The ability to work overtime on a scheduled or call-in basis, as necessary.

• Write clearly and legibly to keep detailed and accurate records.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently lift/carry objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds.
• Occasionally lift/move/push/pull objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds.
• Frequently twist, stoop, bend, climb, push, and/or pull.
• Perform repetitive tasks with both hands.

Environment:

• Continuously exposed to slippery/wet surfaces.
• Regularly exposed to work near moving parts/equipment.
• Regularly exposed to moderate to severe noise levels.
• Occasionally exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
