We are currently looking to hire Machine Operators at our corporate headquarters in Manlius, NY.

Position Overview

The Machine Operator does this by the operation of various mechanical and some computer integrated machines which require the operator to perform all duties related to the set-up, operation, basic maintenance of the equipment and may be required to run one or more machines during long cycle times. The Machine Operator will utilize good problem solving skills to safely employ a wide variety of jigs, fixtures, and set-ups.

Description of Duties:

• Identify a variety of wood species products including but not limited to the following wood species: Cherry, Mahogany, Oak, Maple, Birch, and Veneers and make grade related decisions on a daily basis based on established Stickley standards.
• Reports to their supervisor for direction daily and promptly report any questions or problems.
• Read, comprehend, and full fill production tickets and print scan tags as needed.
• Read and Interpret part drawings.
• Inspect parts for quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Operate assigned machines and mechanical and computer aided equipment/machines to produce required parts and pieces and achieve defined production goals.
• Handle a high volume of production through assigned machining centers while maintaining quality and dimensional accuracy.

Basic Requisites:

• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, counting, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and knowledge of weights and measure, utilize measuring tools such as tape measures and other measuring devices to sufficiently handle job tasks.
• Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions
• Ability to operate facility equipment as required in assigned area.
• Satisfactorily complete all Stickley training requirements.
• Move throughout all areas of the facility.
• Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions.
• Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break.
• Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
