The Logistics Manager is responsible for leading the team that delivers our products to all of our customers: to our own cafés, our restaurant partners in the DMV and e-commerce customers across the country. Your primary responsibility is to manage a clean, safe and fully stocked warehouse, as well as training and leading your team to ensure the safe and on time fulfillment of all orders. We have just moved in to a new warehouse and are seeking to aggressively improve our day to day operations to take advantage of new opportunities. We are opening new cafés, building our e-commerce business and continuing to increase the number of restaurants who serve our coffee. You will be directly involved in making this growth successful from Day 1.

Responsibilities:

Organizational Mastery:

• Manage accurate digital records of all inventory coming in and out of the warehouse
• Uphold cleaning and organizational standards for the warehouse and loading dock
• Build efficient daily and weekly schedules for yourself and your team

Real Good Communication:

• Respond quickly and constructively to our customers for order related questions
• Provide accurate needs' estimates to our in-house production team and external vendors

Legendary Customer Service:

• Achieve accurate and on-time fulfillment for all orders
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the needs of our wholesale customers and how we can best serve them
• Seek out “hero moments” to deliver unexpected legendary experiences for our customers

Technical competency:

• Attain fluency in the safe and effective use of box trucks and sprinter vans
• Become a certified forklift, stacker, pallet jack and scissor lift operator
• Excel at use of Compass digital systems (e.g. Shopify, Shared Drives, NetSuite) for tracking inventory and fulfillment, studying order trends and viewing shared resources

Personal Growth:

• Maintain a growth mindset
• Become a subject matter expert in warehouse and logistical processes
• Become a student of outside innovations and developments to improve Compass systems

Qualifications:

• Past experience in a logistics, supply chain or warehouse role
• Detail oriented with the ability to maintain accurate digital records
• Demonstrated ability to plan and manage both tasks and people
• Strong sense of urgency and commitment to achieving results
• Excellent problem solving & communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team to accomplish goals
• Ability to work effectively and demonstrate leadership amongst a cross-functional team
