Opportunity Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure all branches have the necessary fleet delivery and material handling equipment (MHE) to service all customers at the lowest cost. Fleet delivery equipment (FDE) includes tractors, trailers, straight trucks, and variations in each category by branch. MHE includes forklifts, pallet jacks, stackers, lifts and other warehouse operational equipment. Accountability includes working with corporate procurement serving as key liaison for the division in this category. Goals for this role include keeping all leases current, obtaining new or replacing old equipment timely, optimizing equipment needs, improving equipment utilization, and lowering cost per unit. This role can be based out of a Victory branch.

How you will impact Victory Packaging:
Coordinates the purchase and/or leasing of all field equipment needs (MHE and FDE) to the specification of operations in each branch.

Oversees and manages the entire process from identification of need through financial approval/justification to PO creation and vendor delivery.

Works with corporate procurement to obtain all necessary equipment at the lowest cost.

Responsible for updating and maintaining an accurate inventory of all FDE and MHE in the division at all branches (owned and leased).

Manages all spot needs for rental equipment to handle peak demand.

Ensures equipment is insured, registered, and otherwise brought into compliance with all City, State, and Federal regulations.

Accountable for accuracy of all invoiced vendor equipment charges. Is actively auditing and reviewing with vendors.

Controls costs through inventory and asset management, while working with the branches.

Ensures preventative maintenance programs are in place for all equipment.

Tracks all sold/junked assets and manages these out of the company through the end-of-life cycle.

Monitors progress of area’s key performance indicators (KPIs) actual vs. target on a monthly basis.

Submits monthly progress reports on inventory and cost control initiatives.

What it takes to succeed:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business, Transportation or Logistics.

5+ logistics equipment management experience.

Person must be able to work independently and proactively.

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); and other applications as required

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Ability to support and drive change in processes within organization
