Job description
The following list outlines the responsibilities of the loan officers and is not intended to be an all-inclusive list:
- Knowledge of financial products/commodities a must;
- Be able to analyze all types of credit requests, financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, cash flows; and counsel debtors on financial condition and workouts if necessary;
- Evaluate credit worthiness by processing loan applications and preparing documentation within the specified limits and timelines required;
- Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility and feasibility of granting credit;
- Adhere to the policies approved by the Board of Directors and maintained in the bank’s policy manual;
- Follow the guidance of regulatory agencies to remain in compliance with all federal guidelines;
- Determine all applicable qualifications in setting up repayment plans;
- Communicate with clients either to request or provide information;
- Justify decisions, approvals or rejections, and document all information in determining decisions and being able to explain the decision;
- Complete loan contracts and explain all details of the loan agreement;
- Update job knowledge on types of loans and other financial services;
- Maintain and update customer records;
- Be able to cross sell other services offered by the bank to customers;
- Assess customer needs, explore all options and introduce different types of loans;
- Go the “extra mile” to build trust, customer loyalty and satisfaction throughout the underwriting process;
- Maintain customer confidence by keeping all personal and loan information confidential;
- Be knowledgeable about all the services offered by the bank and be willing to learn more about those services to make yourself more valuable;
- Be prepared to perform other duties, not necessarily related to loan functions;
- Show willingness and take the initiative to learn more and do more than just loan duties;
- Always provide friendly customer service and be willing to assist the customer in any way possible;
- Maintain a positive attitude;
- Good personality and outgoing to meet the community;
- Work well with fellow employees;
- Any other duties of which you are requested to perform.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $2,100.00 - $3,600.00 per month
