Loan Fraud Risk Lead

As a Barclays Loan Fraud Risk Lead, you will be responsible for loss reduction, customer experience enhancements and operational optimization for Loans portfolio- both to existing customer and Point of Sale financing at the merchant. You will operate in a fast paced environment and require quick response to emerging issues and fraud attacks. You will be managing Barclays’ loans portfolio from strategy optimization perspective and thus helping in reducing fraud operational expense and enhancing customer experience.

What will you be doing?

• You will be a subject matter expert for strategy management to prevent fraudsters and credit abusers from opening loans using own or stolen identities
• Performing data analytics for designing and evaluating fraud strategies for their effectiveness and manage deliverables needed to implement
• Owning and managing fraud rules, scores, and detection strategies and work closely with fraud operations team
• Delivering tangible business benefit and value (e.g. loss avoidance, expense optimization, enhanced customer experience)
• Supporting model performance evaluation and work with governance teams for meeting governance requirements
• Conducting defect reviews of high fraud losses cases to identify any gaps in Fraud strategy, case management, or make procedural adjustments

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor's degree required, Master’s preferred
• Two+ years of experience in fraud risk management or quantitative role, preferably in financial services, payments, or finctech
• Working knowledge and experience with detection and mitigation practices for fraud types
• Analytical skills, technical skills in SAS / SQL / Hadoop / AWS with proven ability to process data into meaningful insights

Skills that will help you in the role:

• You will have excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills
• Proficient in MS Office including Pivot Tables and Formulae
• Knowledge on Data Science is preferred
