Job description

Heritage Palms located in Indio is looking for one Line Cook & Banquet Cook, who will be in charge of preparing and cooking all food products; maintain safe and wholesome kitchen operation.

Functions:
Prep and cook food as required for a la carte meal and banquet services.
Produce and set up buffet when required.
Maintain safe and clean kitchen.
Perform station attendant's duties as required.
Perform any other job duties as assigned.

Requirements:

· Knowledge of food handling procedures including safe storage and handling.

· Knowledge of food preparation and use of food preparation equipment.

· Knowledge of hot & cold food preparation including safe storage and handling.

· Ability to lift and carry up to approximately 40 pounds

· Ability to stand, walk and bend for extended periods of time.

· Ability to work in environment with high temperatures.

· Ability to communicate effectively with supervisory staff, members, and guests.

· Banquet knowledge desirable

· Able to work hot line and/or buffet preparation stations

· Knowledge of hot & cold food preparation

· Line skills necessary, banquet desirable

· Present in professional appearance and mannerisms, teamplay

· Flexible work schedule, work weekends and Holidays

Education Requirements:

· Specialized training or on the job experience enough to ensure the knowledge of food preparation and handling procedures described above.

· Must obtain Riverside County Food Handlers Card.

· High school or equivalent to ensure basic ability in math, reading, verbal and written communication.
