Job description
The line cook's job is to complete food orders for customers at a high level of quality, consistency, and accuracy. Always maintain a high level of safety, quality, and hygiene.
Essential Duties:
Prepare and cook meals.
Handle the cooking process.
Come up with ideas for and help create new menu dishes.
Complete food order requests with accuracy.
Prepare and cook menu items with a high level of consistency.
Communicate at a high level with other cooks and front-of-house staff.
Meet food safety regulations.
Maintain a clean, sanitary work area at all times.
Check temperatures of food regularly to ensure they meet ServSafe and La Crosse County Health Dept. codes.
Perform opening and/or closing duties as specified by management.
Maintain a high level of communication between day and night shifts.
Perform other duties, as directed by kitchen manager, kitchen supervisors, or restaurant owners.
Maintain a positive attitude and work closely with front-of-house to ensure a great experience for every customer that comes to our restaurant.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of safe food handling practices
Ability to follow recipes and food preparation and cooking procedures
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
Cooking skills
Cooperation/teamwork skills
Physical Requirements:
Being able to lift 50lbs or more
Being able to stand and/or walk short distances for several hours at a time
Being able to bend
Being able to chop, cut, dice, etc.
Being able to move back and forth consistently
