Arandell provides two different entry-level positions for you to start a career in print. Both offer apprenticeship programs to guide you on your path. You control your destiny with hard work and a willingness to succeed.

The Bindery Technician position is an on-your-feet type of job. It can be physically demanding and require you to reach, bend, twist and lift. You may be sore after your first few shifts but on the bright side, you can skip the gym those days!
If you like a little variety, this job is for you – as jobs and machine assignments will vary depending on the day-to-day workload. However, your primary responsibilities most days will be to lift stacks of our catalogs, align their edges together (called jogging) and place them in a feeder pocket on the machine where they are then stapled – or in printing terms, “stitched” – together. In order to provide you with the best possible breadth of experience during your time as a Bindery Technician , you will also rotate to different areas of the machine throughout your shift.

If you’re hands-on and looking to learn a trade, this is the role for you! The Press Assistant position is a great way to start a career in the printing industry. In our Pressroom, the best way to get to the top is to start at the bottom. This role is an on-your-feet, fast paced role that requires follow-through, accuracy, awareness and the ability to work together as a team.
You will be responsible for the setup, monitoring and troubleshooting of robotics. You will learn how to install plates (the template for printed pages) and also how to web up a press (installing large rolls of paper and running the paper through the press and into a folder almost 200 feet long!). You will be trained on how to use a forklift and ensure high quality in our printed product. If you put in the effort and have a desire to achieve, you will be successful!

Qualifications

• Requires basic mathematical skills to be able to add and subtract.
• Requires the ability to communicate fluently in English to provide effective and clear written and oral communication
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed

In addition for the Press Assistant role:

• Requires the ability to read a ruler
• Must be able to see color clearly
