PART-TIME Brain Injury Support Specialist Level I will work in-home with cases. This position provides minimum to moderate support and/or supervision to promote our clients’ success with daily living tasks and personal growth pursuits. Staff work with 1-3 individuals a week for 2+ hours per visit, depending on the person's needs. All services are provided in the client's home or community. No personal care. MUST BE Comfortable driving to/from 1-2x per week in the Somerville, NJ area.
Work schedule is week-day only for approx. 4-8 hours per week. Room for advancement for someone who has a proven track record working ethically, independently and possess strong communication and organizational skills. Past work experiences should reflect these.
Responsibilities:
Socialization and true companionship with active listening and engaging is first and foremost. Offering motivation for task support around the house. There could also be a need to supervise and support a clients with IADL’s. Local driving and accompanying clients to appointments, activities and other outings such as food shopping or to get a hair cut.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements for Brain Injury Support Specialist I:
Education: High School Diploma or GED or Certified Home Health Aide will be considered.
Experience: A minimum of 24 months experience working with people with disabilities, preferably brain injured.
Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, proof of NJ auto insurance and responsible driving behaviors must be maintained. Competence in writing, planning, organization and documentation. Creativity, initiative and flexibility as well as time management and communication skills are required. The ability to communicate with families, professionals and co-workers is a must. The ability to demonstrate positive client interaction skills is essential.
