Western Colorado University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Education. The successful candidate will teach a 5/5 teaching load, with possible releases for leadership responsibilities. All coursework is delivered asynchronously online via Canvas; however, this position requires a consistent campus presence. A strong commitment to inclusivity, teaching excellence, advising, mentoring, service, and ongoing professional development is expected.

The Education Department at Western has approximately 150 undergraduates and 100 graduate students. Students may earn undergraduate and graduate degrees and teaching licenses in elementary education, middle school and secondary education, special education, school administration, and educator effectiveness. - Teach courses on curriculum, instruction, assessment, diversity, inclusion, and creating positive classroom environments
- Supervise/coach undergraduate and graduate preservice teachers
- Provide leadership for undergraduate and graduate programs
- Collaborate with other faculty members on curriculum development and renewal
- Engage in service to the department, local school districts, the state, the region, and your professional organizations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience supervising/coaching teacher candidates either as a mentor teacher or faculty member
- Experience creating and teaching online and hybrid courses
- Experience teaching at the university level

SALARY/BENEFITS: $42,0000-$45,000 annualized salary. Western offers an excellent benefits package including shared premiums for a comprehensive health insurance plan, dental insurance, retirement plan, life insurance, and other insurance options. After one year of employment, Western provides free tuition for dependents enrolled full time in undergraduate programs for up to four years.
START DATE: June 2023 or negotiable
