Your responsibilities

Summary of Position:

Work under the general guidance of the Safety-Lean Director, reports directly to operational
Plant Manager. The Lean Champion acts as leader, educator, liaison and partner in pursuing
excellence and value in the plants and/or office using the concepts of Continuous
Improvement.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and formal and informal training in support of the
development of an innovative work environment, ensuring the application of data driven
decision making tools (Root-cause problem solving, VSM, AIW, and Project
Management)
  • Lead numerous operational optimization projects simultaneously to develop new
processes.
  • Develop team capabilities to utilize tools of basic problem-solving
  • Facilitate brainstorming, idea evaluation/assessment, tracking, coaching/training of
employee-based teams and implementation plan development (follow up)
  • Lead, manage, and document and track all departmental projects
  • Identify, optimize, standardize, and maintain execution of best practices
  • Support and provide input to the development of Lean Programs and initiatives, ensuring
continuous performance improvement and capability development.
  • Capture and review data, current processes and performance trends for variances and
severity level
  • Identify and prioritize system constraints which impact efficiency, rate, capacity, operating
hours, etc.
  • Meet Lean performance measurements. Documentation (Assessments, Audits,
Observations, Records)
  • Measurements, maintain visibility of all formal and informal events, activities, follow-up
  • Travel as necessary to locations throughout the organization and to attend applicable
educational seminars
  • Supports, executes and analyzes Safety-Lean quality-reporting measures
  • Meets TKMNA Employee Attributes / Competencies

Your profile

Minimum Requirements:
  • Degree in Business, Operations or Engineering
  • Prior Lean experience, minimum of 3 years
  • Demonstrated leadership and training facilitation skills
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of quality management systems applicable to the business
  • SME Lean Certification (minimum Bronze level) or other accredited Lean certification
required
  • Excellent Computer skills – Power point, Excel, Word, Visio and Project
Preferred Requirements:
  • Greenbelt certification
