JOB TITLE: Lead Trainer and Staff Development Specialist
REPORTING STRUCTURE: Vice President of Residential Programs
EXEMPTION STATUS: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Multiple Locations

SCHEDULE: 40 hours a week. Additional hours as needed.
GRADE/SALARY: $40,000 / Annually
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Lead Trainer and Staff Development Specialist is responsible for the training of employees on all Department of Children and Families required annual training, as well as the Boys Town behavioral model and Safety Crisis Management (SCM) training. Duties include but are not limited to leading training, facilitating staff training, providing feedback, and assisting with employee and program evaluation. This role is pivotal to the support of our organization and requires somebody who can develop our staff at the highest possible level.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct and coordinate all required Department of Children and Families annual required training.
- Analyze technical training needs by collecting information while performing employee observations.
- Provide detailed written feedback and coaching meetings to all employees (day and night shift).
- Develop formal support training plans for employees when needed to aid in development.
- Facilitate technical training and execute training plans according to overall training goals.
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods and media to achieve training objectives.
- Develop an online training library to help in the support and development of all employees.
- Monitor the adoption Boys Town Behavior Model, as well as the Safety Crisis
Management (SCM) model and aid in the transfer of knowledge from the classroom to work practice.
- Collaborates with the Vice President of Residential Support as well as Kinloch Price
Boys Ranch/Wren House directors, to ensure training is synchronized with strategic initiatives and priorities.
- Develops and administers training programs related to other duties and special projects.
- Training newly hired staff in the area of trauma-informed practices.
- Assist with new-employee orientation training.
- Help coordinate monthly ranch huddle meetings with Kinloch Price Boys Ranch
Directors.
- Coordinate with outside organizations to provide training and professional development to all staff.
- Work occasional nights or weekends as needed for events or meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor's degree in education or a related field is preferred.
- Teaching or training experience preferred.
- Experience with the Boystown Behavior Model and Safety Crisis Management preferred.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices preferred
- Must be able to pass required background checks
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to organize, set priorities, take the initiative and exercise sound judgment within areas of responsibility
- Ability to work under deadlines in a time-sensitive environment
- Knowledge & experience in Microsoft Office Word/Excel/Google Suite (google docs, forms, sheets, etc.)
- Strong oral and written communication
- Work as a team player as well as independently
