The Lift Operations Department at Soda Springs is a team of trained employees who are responsible for the safe, efficient and enjoyable uphill transportation of staff and guests. Our focus is specifically directed towards, but not limited to all Soda conveyor and chair lifts, shuttle jeep, and carousels. You are directly responsible for your specific assigned lift and/or work station. Keep in mind that this is a small part of the mountain as a whole and you are also responsible for any situations that are happening elsewhere which are brought to your attention. You must behave maturely and professionally, be able to talk easily with people, smile and demonstrate a positive and helpful attitude to guests and staff members. Situational and safety awareness, at all times, is a top priority. Your actions as a lift operator can, and will, directly affect the safety and satisfaction of every single guest that visits our mountain.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Receive daily duty assignments from supervisor.
- Performs lunch and restroom breaks to all lift operations team members
- Acts on behalf of the Lift Operations Supervisor in their absence and as needed
- Ensures all daily lift operating logs are completed and returned to Lift Operations Supervisor at end of shift.
- Supports team members in their on-going training and in their daily roles as needed and as assigned
- Must be familiar with assigned lift or equipment, i.e., brakes, electrical systems, mechanical drives, and controls, safety procedures.
- Properly sets up mazes, fences, head closures, signs in preparation for opening and to properly close each chair and store equipment at the end of each workday.
- Maintains load and unload ramps at optimum heights by shoveling in/out and raking snow as needed
- Maintains signage, head closures and mazes in straightened, tight condition throughout the day.
- Keeps assigned lift station in neat, organized, and clean condition.
- Properly loads or unloads guests onto and off of assigned lift
- Be able to talk or coach the skiers and riders to ensure proper loading and unloading of the lift.
- Visually checks haul rope, towers, sheaves, for noises or other unusual mechanical behaviors each time they ride the chair. Communicates unusual findings promptly to supervisor or lead.
- Maintains communication at all times with other operators to ensure safe operation of lift.
- Focus on safety of self, guest, and fellow employees at all times. Participate in all safety training.
- Arrives 1 hour early (as assigned) on snow days to assist in snow removal duties in preparation for on-time opening of lifts and other resort operations.
- Works as part of inter-department team to set up the base area corral fence, safety barricades, and signage.
- Sets up, fuels, and safely operates Planet Kids Sleigh (jeep) as trained
- Safely operates Planet Kids tube carousels as trained
- Other department and resort related duties as assigned
