General Purpose/Summary/Objective:
The Lawn Maintenance Team Member provides lawn maintenance service to Army Special Operations Forces Training, such as mowing, edging, trimming shrubs, pulling weeds, spread mulch and pine straw, lay sod, dig holes, plant shrubs, and any other landscape maintenance related labor needed
Essential Functions:
The Lawn Maintenance Team Member provides lawn maintenance service to Army Special Operations Forces Training, such as mowing, edging, trimming shrubs, pulling weeds, spread mulch and pine straw, lay sod, dig holes, plant shrubs, and any other landscape maintenance related labor needed
Essential Functions:
- Perform mowing, weeding, edging, pruning, and debris removal. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and regulations, Use assigned tools in a safe and proper manner, Report broken or missing tools, keep work trucks clean and organized
- Communicate with multiple stakeholders to include commercial (off-site) product and service vendors
- Ensure that work force is adequately trained to operate construction and heavy lift vehicles and power tools and maintain necessary certifications as required
- Ensure that all personnel are furnished with and instructed on the proper wearing of PPE
- Comply with all Federal, State, Local, and safety regulations; ensure that all assigned personnel understand applicable weapons safety policies and directives.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be certified in Construction Management and/or possess at least two (2) years’ experience in construction project management or equitable experience and/or certification such as successful construction trade business ownership or management who are subject matter experts on all aspects for construction and facility maintenance operations.
- U.S. citizen without adverse background information. No current or pending legal action that will hinder their ability to perform their duties.
- Able to perform in an austere field environment during all weather conditions, day and night, during field duties
- Personnel may be required to communicate by FM, HF, and/ or Motorola type radio IAW Army communications procedures and medical evacuation procedures. They also may be required to send, receive, and record FM and HF communications traffic
- While assigned transportation tasks and responsibilities, personnel shall possess a valid driver’s license
- Able to navigate on roads and cross-country using military or civilian maps, road signs, landmarks and/ or directions provided by the Cadre or members of the Chain of Command.
- Are of good health and cleared by a medical physician (physical examination) to participate in this exercise.
Physical Demands:
- Required to frequently sit, stand and walk for long periods of time
- Required to reach with hands and arms
- Required to frequently move ten pounds; occasionally lift or move up to twenty-five pounds
- Exposure to hot conditions (over 90 degrees)
- Exposure to cold conditions (below 32 degrees)
- Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions
- Required to perform in both rural and urban environments
- The noise level in the work environment varies
- See details of objects that are less than a few feet away
- Understand the speech of another person
- Speak clearly so listeners can understand
- Must be able to read, write and understand English
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 year experience in the equivalent field
- HS Diploma
