Land Survey Technician/Rodman/Survey Crew Member
Job description
Maxwell-Reddick & Associates is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Survey Technician for a full-time position at our Statesboro office. This position will be assisting the Survey Crew Chief in completing the fieldwork for boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and construction staking, for engineering design projects and individual surveying clients.
Job Summary:
- The main task of a Survey Technician is to aid the Survey Crew Chief in completing multiple tasks required to complete any survey-related project. These tasks could include items such as cutting out surveying lines with a machete, carrying wood survey stakes / or rebar, traversing properties, finding, and uncovering property corners and utilizing a metal detector to look for property corners. A survey crew is a team, and each member should be able to assist with tasks to help complete the job safely and in a timely fashion.
- Learn how to operate survey instruments such as robotic total stations, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment to collect field data under the direct supervision of the Survey Crew Chief.
- Create legible and accurate field notes.
- Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.
- Possess talent to act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Communication with various other team members including the Survey Crew Chief and office project manager.
Desired Skills
· High school diploma or GED required.
· No previous experience is required. Training is provided.
· Ability to work outside in all seasons and environments from swamps to urban areas.
· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
· Must be able to travel as we have projects all over Georgia and sometimes in other states.
