Lactation Consultant / Specialist Nurse - RN/LPN

Position Summary for Lactation Consultant / Specialist RN/LPN:

JMA is looking for an energetic Full-time or Part-time RN/LPN Certified Lactation Consultant/Specialist who thrives in a team based environment and has a passion for working with patients and their families in a primary care setting. The position is primarily located in our Clayton Location. The Lactation Consultant/Specialist is a Clinician, Teacher, and Leader. Routinely, the Lactation Consultant/Specialist provides specialized nursing care and education to breastfeeding mothers and their babies. In addition, the Lactation Consultant/Specialist makes clinical assessments, and uses current lactation theories and research to develop evidence-based feeding plans that address individual feeding issues while respecting the physicians and families breastfeeding goals. The Lactation Consultant/Specialist also has the opportunity to work in a staff nurse capacity, as needed.

Licensure/Certifications Requirements:

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to practice in North Carolina
• Board Certified as a Lactation Consultant or certified as Lactation Specialist (IBCLC)
• BLS (CPR) – American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider

Experience:

· 1 year in breastfeeding/lactation support preferred

· Pediatric/Primary Care Nursing experience preferred

Position Requirements:

· Full Time or Part Time, Monday – Friday; NO weekends

· No call requirements
