JOB SUMMARY:

The Kinship Care Assessor is responsible for determining caregiver eligibility to join the Kinship Care program and monitoring clients' compliance with eligibility requirements.

The Kinship Care program is designed to help support a child who resides outside of his or her own home, either temporarily or for the long term, by someone who is related to the child by family ties or by a significant prior relationship connection. Kinship Care supports the concept of children residing with a relative caregiver, rather than being placed in a foster home or other out-of-home placement. Professional Services Group conducts assessments of kinship cases where the children are living with relatives that are privately arranged by family members.

OFFICE LOCATION & HOURS: Office is based in West Allis, WI. Hybrid model of time spent out in the community completing home visits with clients, with some time spent at the office or flexibility to work remote. Part time hours may vary and are flexible. Seeking staff to work afternoon/evening hours and/or optional weekends. Weekends are not required.

SALARY: $16.00 per hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Determine eligibility for Voluntary Kinship Care applications
  • Conduct home visits and phone calls to clients on caseload
  • Assist with on-going program planning development.
  • Conduct reviews to determine continuation of Kinship Care payments.
  • Accurately enter information into the Wisconsin State and internal PSG databases
  • Attend Fair Hearings as requested.
  • Provide identified monthly reports.
Requirements:
  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or other related field.
  • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
