Procedure Title: Junior SQF Practitioner

Summary:
The Junior SQF Practitioner supports in the development, maintaining and review of prerequisite and food safety programs including SQF, HACCP, FSMA, Customer complaints, environmental monitoring, COA approval, food defense, food fraud, crisis management and recall program. Drives program compliance to comply with regulatory and customer guidelines.
Responsibilities/Duties
· Understand, monitor, implement and audit the site’s SQF program including HACCP and Food Safety Plans.
· Supports in maintaining standard operating procedures (SOP), standard work (SW) and all active food safety policies to be in compliance with most up to date regulations.
· Supports in maintaining customer complaint database and corrective action completion.
· Maintains database/register for service providers, suppliers, product SKU, approved chemicals and training roster for food safety topics.
· Supports in supplier approval documentation including audit review, COA approval, process flow chart review and provide insight into risk assessment as needed.
· Supports in validation and verification activities of all food safety and quality programs.
· Schedules and conducts internal audits with cross functional team as needed.
· Stays updated with changes in industry, changes in regulation, changes in SQF code, changes in customer guidelines and expectations and changes in relevant scientific literature.
· As experience is gained, becomes the point of contact with certification bodies, customers, service providers and regulatory agencies with regards to SOP implementation.
· Audits process flow diagrams as part of HACCP and Food Safety program review.
· Takes action to maintain the integrity of the SQF and Food Safety Programs including initiating the annual review by senior management.
· Supports in documenting Food Safety and Quality meetings and tracks action item completion.
Requirements
· Bachelors’ degree in food science, food chemistry, biology, food engineering or related field preferred.
· Skilled in Microsoft Programs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
· Great communication, writing and analytical skills
· Ability to coach, train and work hands on with employees
· Detail oriented with high organization and time management skills
· Excels in individual and team setting
· A task-oriented individual with ability to self-manage and identify daily personal expectations
