INCATech is searching for a Jr. Geographic Information System (GIS) Consultant to support a program at the Department of Commerce. INCATech is supporting the DoC’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s (NTIA) effort to expand reliable and high-speed broadband at Local, State, Tribal, and Federal Levels through the creation, deployment, and maintenance of the National Broadband Availability Map (NBAM). INCATech provides NTIA with data analysis, cartography, and outreach to ensure officials at all levels have reliable, clear data and visualizations. We provide a multi-disciplinary team with expertise from across our practice areas, ensuring that our geospatial solutions are infused with best practices in data management and user-centered design.

Jr. GIS Consultant RESPONSIBILITIES:

Jr. GIS Consultant RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in data automation tasks, data migration, and database development.
- Perform basic and advanced geoprocessing tasks using ArcGIS Pro and other Esri products and extensions.
- Perform web layer, map, and dashboard production tasks.
- Write geoprocessing Python and SQL scripts.
- Onboard Federal and State users to the NBAM as needed.
- Create and maintain training materials in the form of documents, hub sites, videos, and webinars.
- Simulate/recreate user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
- Coordinate workflow with project/technical managers.
Jr. GIS Consultant REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of experience supporting geospatial data and map development, as well as relational database operations.
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree
- Apply diagnostic techniques to identify problems; investigate causes; and recommend solutions.
- Knowledge of digital cartographic techniques and standards.
- Ability to create and maintain simplified user documentation/quick reference guides (QRG).
- Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using ArcGIS Pro and other Esri products in the ArcGIS Platform.
- Experience in enterprise consulting services to support a cloud-based GIS platform to meet program objectives.
- Expertise with Microsoft Office and Project Management tools.
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to maintain a high level of customer service focus, exhibiting expertise, courtesy, timeliness, and professionalism when interfacing with users and senior agency staff.
