Summary:

Gather, calculate and compile data to produce construction cost estimates for public and private bid proposals. Work within a team environment to produce accurate competitive estimates in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform volumetric, linear, area quantity verification from various sources such as digital and printed plans
Reading and understanding plans and specifications
Collect pricing from vendors and subcontractors
Assist in preparing accurate bid proposals
Assist clients with preliminary site alternatives and budgeting
Build and maintain relationships with clients
Calculate various statistical data – quantity take-off
Maintain files of working documents
Perform additional assignments per supervisor direction

Requirements:


Minimum understanding and ability to use Agtek and CAD drafting software
Proficient with MS Office programs
Ability to calculate mathematical extensions; read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts and cost coding systems
Ability to work within a team environment
Must be a self-starter

Education and Experience:

Two year associate engineering degree or equivalent technical training and/or experience
Minimum of one year quantity takeoff, controls and/or engineering experience in the construction industry
