Summary Description
The Job Developer develops career plans and is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the plan for Harc Day Programs individuals who are assigned to his/her caseload. The Job Developer Establishes relationships with community employers, finds and develops individual job placements for individuals in Harc?s Day Programs. The Job Developer places individuals into jobs that have been developed, provides on the job training for individuals placed in jobs and is the primary liaison with employers. The Job Developer maintains close contact with individuals during job training and placement, follows up with employers and individuals to insure successful placement and completes necessary reports. The Job Developer will attend scheduled individual focused meetings, completes all other necessary paperwork, and supervises program staff when assigned to do so.
Essential Job Functions:
- Supports Harc in advancing its mission by supporting its community and governmental advocacy efforts; demonstrates care and respect in all interactions with clients; supporting activities that promote Harc?s financial stability, including attending or otherwise supporting major fundraisers.
- Receives referrals from the Senior Director of Employment Services for individuals interested in working in an individual placement: confers with the individual and his/her Coordinator of Employment Supports to gather information, discern vocational interests, discuss options, and establish individual goals and objectives. Develops and completes Career Plans with input from the individuals assigned to him/her.
- Coordinates individuals? Career Plan and assumes responsibility for monitoring the implementation of Plan and subsequent Action Plan. Attends individuals? meetings: provides programmatic input at yearly and scheduled meetings.
- Finds and develops jobs for individuals in Harc?s programs: uses available employment resources to find and develop jobs in the greater Hartford area for Harc individuals. Establishes and maintains relationships with community employers during job development, placement and follow up time frames.
- Matches Harc individuals to jobs: places individuals into jobs that have been developed; arranges on the job training and assessments for individuals placed in job. Maintains close contact with individuals during placement, job training and follow up.
- Assures that billing for services provided is accurate, timely and meets Harc, DDS (Department of Developmental Services) and Medicaid requirements.
- May supervise program staff: follows Labor Contract.
- Follows appropriate safety practices; assesses jobs to assure the environment where work is performed is safe for a person with intellectual disability.
- Provides counseling support to individuals as needed: counsels individuals to cope effectively with vocational and social situations throughout program; refers individuals to appropriate source when emotional counseling is deemed necessary.
- Follows established behavioral plans as necessary.
- Must obtain medication certification and pass recertification as required by DDS.
- Participates in Harc's Rehabilitation meetings: reviews incoming referrals for job placement, makes decisions about follow-up services and delivery of services on an as needed basis.
- Provides specialized training in various topic groups for individuals.

- Chairs in-house committees as assigned
- Provides follow-up and follow along services for caseload individuals terminated from program.
