Job description
As an IT System Administrator, responsible for the maintenance, configuration, managing, troubleshooting, licensing, and updating hardware and software assets and reliable operation of computer systems and servers to limit work disruptions within the company. System Administrator will be working closely with all end-users and software developers to create and deploy custom applications. This individual will play a key role in the development of our R/D, ERP and CRM applications and provide subject matter expertise. This role will provide support to the development team by answering questions and participating in peer reviews. This position will also provide quality and business value to the end-users.
System Administrator duties and responsibilities
System Administrators identify any problems in the system, anticipate potential issues and repair systems and software when necessary. Other duties and responsibilities may include:
- Account activation, deactivation, permission management.
- VPN account management and setup
- Global Administrator for Office 365
- Company Administrator for TeamViewer
- Network Installations and troubleshooting
- Special projects (GHS implementation, integrations, formula revision process, etc.)
- Support Sage, BatchWorks and Regulatory projects
- Support BW batch – Sage auto importer process
- Support SF – BW projects
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and network servers
- SQL Queries, data, and table management
- Applications Support (ADC, SEI, Sage, SQL, Procession and Salesforce CRM)
- Troubleshooting common issues in Sage X3, CRM, Sphera, GHS and SEI
- Product setup and management for Linden products, product-sites, and BOMs
- Testing large-scale data imports into Sage X3 and Procession
- Installation, training, and troubleshooting for SEI Excel add-in
- Troubleshooting (printers, computers, VPN, networking, programs, etc)
- Cable Installations and terminations
- Maintain anti-virus software
- Implement and sustain network security protocols as defined by IT department
- Administrator of key fob system for Sharonville, Valencia and Linden
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
- Owner and Administrator for ZenDesk ticketing system
- Maintenance and support Desktop/Laptop and making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problem are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
- Daily Helpdesk responsibilities (resolve tickets)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications for System Administrator
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 3 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
- System administration and IT certifications in other network related fields are a plus
- Strong knowledge of systems (e.g., ERP & CRM systems) and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
- Experience with scripting and automation tools
- Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
- Experience working with end-users to understand their business processes and requirements to work with the development team to design functional solutions
- Builds trust with end-users to elicit desired functionalities from documented business and functional requirements
- Proficient in utilizing user-centered design methodologies to solve technical problems
- Self-motivated with a desire and drive to continuously learn and grow as a professional and as an individual
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English) required with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
