Responsible for the implementation, maintenance and repair of all station hardware and software, the Help Desk Technician will troubleshoot, diagnose and repair hardware and software issues. Troubleshoot and maintain business computer peripherals. Make recommendations on quoting of business computers and peripheral costs for upgrade and replacement purposes. Understand the complete architecture of a network client workstation and how it relates to a client/server environment. Assist users in daily operation of the Credit Union’s workstations and use of business and financial applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide exceptional technical support for end users in person or via phone and remote access.
  • Work as a team and individually under general supervision, applying best practices and established procedures.
  • Interact daily with supervisor, peers, and users and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and customer service.
  • Assist users in troubleshooting general workstation and software issues.
  • Take ownership of and resolve all Level 1 issues. When possible resolve Level 2 issues.
  • Track physical equipment, software licensing and special configuration settings.
  • Assist other IT staff with special projects
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot and repair enterprise workstations, peripheral devices, network printers and other branch equipment.
  • Utilize networking protocols to troubleshoot, install and repair software and connectivity solutions for workstations.
  • Utilize computer hardware and software architectural schematics to be able to properly troubleshoot.
  • Install and configure system devices including optical scanners, drives, motherboards, video cards and sound cards, Universal Serial Bus connected peripherals, network and local printers and the appropriate drivers for each mentioned.
  • Understand installation, update procedures and troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office suite including MS Access, MS Word, MS Internet Explorer, MS Powerpoint, and MS Excel.
  • Understand installation of, update procedures for & troubleshoot 3rd party workstation software. Install & support new financial institution software.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). At least 6 months previous or related experience.
