The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Purpose of the Position:

The IT Reporting Developer / Analyst will engage with the internal plant customers to understand data requirements necessary to design, develop and support data systems. This person will work in close cooperation with the operating departments of the plant.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Ensure a smooth production process and high availability of used IT systems
• Interact with customers to gather and define requirements from both a business and data systems perspective by interpreting business needs and translating them to technical requirements and specifications to meet the need.
• Implement components (e.g., program, specifications, order, build, etc.) for complex IT solutions for new business demands and maintenance of business.
• Trouble-shoot data inaccuracies or data system failures to ensure accurate data output.
• Trouble-shoot production related issues and implement solutions or corrections to resume normal operation.
• On call responsibilities on a rotational basis to provide afterhours support.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a computer related field (or comparable education with several years of job experience)

Required Skills:

• Proficient in creating reports using SSRS
• Proficient in developing views and stored procedures in T-SQL
• Proficient in writing SQL Queries
• Have the readiness to take on a variety of responsibilities, have trustworthiness, and be flexibility to adhere to strict deadlines
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Microsoft PowerBI
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite to include Outlook and Peoplesoft.
• Manufacturing systems (MES) software experience
• Strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with GE Proficy and Microsoft SQL
