General Summary: The primary responsibility of an IT business analyst is to discuss the vision of the project with the end-user community and define business requirements. At every stage of the project, the Business Analyst must try to understand the needs of the project stakeholders and work according to satisfy them with appropriate solutions. The most important responsibility is to improve the efficiency and performance of the business. The Business Analyst is responsible for developing information systems that will be extremely useful for taking the business of a company to a higher level of operation. The Business Analyst is instrumental in defining strategy and ensuring that it meets the business needs and is successfully implemented. The IT Business Analyst must be good at multi-tasking and qualified to deal with the challenges during the life of a project. It is important that the Business Analyst have excellent people management skills, communication skills and technical skills. Very strong technical skills, coupled with a deep knowledge of the business and a deep understanding of the customer's needs to that they can be transformed into application and operational requirements.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile any conflicts, decompose high-level information into details and distinguish end-user requests from the underlying true business needs
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal resources to analyze information needs and function requirements documentation as needed
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of a Project Manager
  • Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their project plans
  • Strong analytical and project management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operation requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers and subject matter experts
  • Serves as the conduit between the end-users community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow
  • Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language that the end-user and the development team can easily understand
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
  • Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams
  • Define the business problem and primary objectives of new projects
  • Identify and validate the key business requirements
  • Evaluate potential software solutions, including off-the-shelf and open source components and the system architecture to ensure that they meet business requirements
  • Coordinate requirements walk-through and sign-offs, verifying with user representatives/stakeholders that use cases and process models accurately defined business needs
  • Contribute to the development of Project plans and other project management documentation

Education, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field

Salary Range:The pay range of this position is90,000-100,000. Actual salary will be determined based off candidate's skill sets, years of experience, and other job-related factors. This range does not include benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, 401K, and additional company benefits.
